Earlier this week, we dropped an announcement in our discord outlining the changes we’re making to our communication strategy. One of the main tenets was:
“We want the Rebound to be a place where we’ll walk you through a project in real time. You’ll experience the breakthroughs and the missteps as well as provide us valuable feedback and suggestions through our next point.”
We hope our actions over the last week have begun to showcase this new attitude!
This week we mainly shared our work on three things:
Kong models
Stadium models/design
The Marketplace
Kong Models:
The community vote about our Kong models back in December was the community iteration that spurred a lot of our new thinking about open feedback. Early this week we showcased a work in progress of how these 3D models movements and animations!
While there was a ton of excitement, one of the main pieces of community feedback we received was about “the neck”. We quickly got to work and only a few days later revealed an updated 3D Kong Design.
You all loved it, so we immediately cranked out the fully rendered 3D of the new design! Here is how it is looking:
Stadiums:
We’ve been iterating around the look and feel of our stadium and have received so much love for its distinct character. Progressing from our still 2D image of the stadium.
On Wednesday we dropped the first look inside the stadium! A short teaser video of your vantage point shifting down to a court side view in our 3D stadium. (without effects, lighting, shadows and more)
There was a subset of our community who didn’t love the playfulness of the bananas everyone and we wanted to make sure we addressed that. We put out a poll and 50.7% want to keep the bananas.
Since the decision was so contentious we wanted to confirm that the Banana stadium will be one of many stadiums in the RKL! We’re already playing with more stadium ideas and have taken note of all the suggestions we’ve read! (Post on community.rumblekongleague.com with your thoughts!)
This new stadium below is a design we’re playing with for our Ranked Leagues.
Marketplace:
When we last brought up the marketplace, we had finished writing the smart contracts and backend but the project remained incomplete since we were iterating on the new website.
We’ve been churning out that frontend and if you’ve been following our updates this week:
We are excited to state we have since completed the UI/UX features for filtering, sorting and searching:
This project has come a long way in a short period of time and we’re really excited for all the features and benefits that will come to Kong holders when we’re able to launch it!
If you have any thoughts on our current designs or any other ideas for the RKL make sure to share in our Discourse! Stay tuned for more updates, these are only a FEW points that we can talk about from the week! 😉
