Hello Kongs,
We wanted to address the CLUBS NFT DROP delay in this article, as we know this is an issue that has been brought up a lot recently. We would first like to apologize for the delay itself and the lack of communication on our part. The primary cause of delay was a two-fold issue:
First, it wasn't easy to find the right developers that can produce the quality of work we require to join the RKL team full-time. Clubs are an integral part of the RKL ecosystem and their quality MUST reflect that. With that being said, we have been incredibly focused on scaling our internal development team and are excited to share a more in-depth team expansion update very soon (btw we are hiring!). On top of the lack of developer issues, the scope of the project became much broader.
It is vital to manage expectations correctly, and we fully understand the community’s frustration. Please understand that since day one we have always been focused on quality, building for the long term. We have learned our lesson here and will tune our communication strategy accordingly!
We are excited to share some key expansions on our internal development team, again we will dive more into their backgrounds and formally meet them in a detailed post to come!
We have scaled the full-time RKL development team to include:
A senior front-end engineer
A senior UI/UX designer
On top of this, we have brought on a team of top-tier web3 focused developers that are full-time with us on a contract basis currently fully focused on clubs. We are able to scale up or down accordingly with them as we continue expanding our dedicated internal team.
The team dedicated to RKL:Clubs and our other ecosystem initiatives is currently broken up into:
2 Senior front-end engineers
2 Junior front-end engineers
2 Solidity developers (smart contracts)
1 Dedicated Tech Lead/Project manager
This is in addition to the team working on the RKL web/mobile game, consisting of 19 people working on it every day. This includes Game Designers, Developers, Artists, Animators, as well as numerous other roles.
What does all of this mean?
The TLDR is that we are now on a great track with an incredibly talented and quickly expanding development team. These key hires have been in place for a few weeks now solely focused on clubs. We are hiring top-tier talent as fast as we can possibly find them!
A great team focused on building quality over quantity (our motto since day one) we believe is absolutely critical to the success of the RKL vision.
Finally, wen clubs?!
We are excited to announce that clubs will be released this month in April!
Although we do not want to pin a specific date, we are quite certain that you will be able to get your club NFTs this April.
More information on the exact rollout, the raffle to OG Kongs, as well as all the other details, will be rolled out shortly.
We thank you for your patience, understanding, and constant support. It is you all that make the RKL and bring this vision to life!
And as always.. #WEAREKONG, see you on the court!
